More Castle sites...

So this weekend we went to both the Zakimi Castle ruins and the Katsuren Castle ruins. We had a great time, there were great views from both sites. Unfortunately while we were at Katsuren it started to rain so we didn't spend much time there. We also hit up the Camp Schwab fest on Saturday and got to watch Candlebox live. Peyton got to play a few games and win some little prizes. Closed up cave we discovered on one of our bike rides. Enjoying a lollipop with Tabby. Giving Tabby lovies. Toguchi beach is across the water. Peyton checking out the map. View from Zakimi Castle Site. Peyton in her new Barbie Mustang Daddy had to get her! Katsuren Castle Site. Little waterfall we found while bike riding. Enjoying herself at the Camp Schwab fest. Our house is across the water somewhere.

East African Land Snail

So I just ran across an article  http://www.japanupdate.com/?id=12203 about that snail I have a post down or so. Apparently they carry a parasite that can cause a form of meningitis so don't touch them! Here is more info about the infection from the CDC website for anyone interested- http://www.cdc.gov/parasites/angiostrongylus/gen_info/faqs.html

Nakagusuku

So Saturday we went down to the Nakagusuku Castle ruins site. It started out a beautiful morning but by the time we left the house it was dreary out. :( So the pictures aren't that great. The site was still beautiful though, it felt like we were up in the clouds! Here is more info on the site: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e7107.html http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/972 The trek up to the site One of the gates View of the reportedly haunted and unfinished Takara Hotel(Royal Hotel) in the distance. The gusuku was built in the 15th century. Peyton picking flowers Giving Momma flowers ;) Main Gate(I think) This would of been a fantastic view but of course it was all grey and raining out. Checking out the view. World Heritage Marker Finishing off the day with mango ice cream! Yum!

Photo's from Pap-Pap's visit!

Finally I've gotten around to blogging the photo's from Jim's(Pap-Pap) visit! Whew. Took me a while to go through them and figure out what I wanted to share! We were able to hit up Shurijo Castle site, Okinawa World, Bios on the hill, Churaumi Aquarium and Toguchi beach. Some other big news in our house we decided to get a cat! There are some pics of Mr. Tabby along in with Pap-Pap's visit. He's adjusted REALLY well and Peyton just loves him! Peyton was scared to death of this mask! Shurijo One of my fav pics of Peyton and I! This giant snail was on the driveway one morning. Enjoying all the fish. Accessorizing Pap-Pap Toguchi Beach Enjoying breakfast with Tabby. Tabby's favorite spot in the house. Poor cat, I'm amazed at what he lets her get away with! He was licking her prior to this. Shurijo Castle Park Walking the grounds at Shurijo With all the orchids
